PAGE FOOTNOTES: One thing science fiction anime, books or films always gets wrong is that being inside a walking mech does not protect the pilot from the inertia of falls or collisions. In such stories, a mech pilot can jump and fall with impunity, but if such a machine existed in reality, simply falling over would be a very serious thing. If a pilot should be riding atop a 30-foot high mech, and the mech falls over, the pilot still falls 30 feet, and the impact would simply be awful.
