A Strong Argument Against Realism In Art |

PAGE FOOTNOTES: My argument is in the image itself, but if you prefer words, I maintain that photography can represent the real world far better than any painter, and that the work of the illustrating artist today is best served by representing the dreams and abstractions that cannot be captured on film. A brush can go where no camera can, and line and paint, digital or real, can alone make the truly impossible real. In this, I feel, is a call to the surreal, and the deepest value of the cartoon work.
