OMAKE FOOTNOTES: Doom 3 really is utterly fantastic. It's a bit like the original doom mixed with the dark world of Silent Hill 2, hence the reference. And, having to switch between gun and light does add to the tension, sure. But the monsters are so cool that it is kind of sad that you cannot always see what you are shooting. It's actually fairly easy to survive, if you are patient and sweep the chambers by the numbers. Nerve wracking and full of suspense, but not so difficult. Doom 3 is a suspense game, not a run-and-gun game. Keep that in mind, if you intend to get it.
Me?
I prefer suspense to run-and-gun, so my complaints are really just
me being silly here.
