PAGE FOOTNOTES:  The letters the Pastellians use are English letters, which they call the Ausmeripean Alpebe. Though they have no way to know it, they have successfully reconstructed the English alphabet, from the mixed Pidgin of Myrmidonian Talcryl. The goal of the Pastellians is to do such things a a means to try to draw closer to their idea of deity, Godan, who they believe whisked them from Earthenland, our earth, to Tryslmaistan, and then again, from Tryslmaistan to Pastel. The Pastellians believe that if they could only get the language pure again, their prayers would be more clearly heard.
